Second internship in Spain

Back in my favorite place 😍

First two weeks are done here and I couldn't be happier. I'm back in Valencia doing my second internship. This time in company called Palm Tree Events. This internship is more about event planning and room rental. I'm really excited what these next 4 months are going offer to me. The work have started well and my coworkers are amazing. I have already learn a lot of new things. We have two events in every week. On Tuesdays pub quiz and on Fridays our main event pub crawl. I have took a part to both of them. Pub crawls are my favorite. Besides the events we are working at the office everyday from 10 until 16. 

Still sunny and warm days on October 🌞

Weather here have been really good. We have had days with +27 degrees. You can see that the winter is coming because windy days are really common. I have also been freezing here so the weather can change fast. Days are still sunny with totally blue sky. On night time it's cooling down so usually you need a jacket. 

Meeting old friends 👭

After I came back here I have seen my old friends. We met in Valencia. It have been amazing to do reunions. I have here 3 friends; one from Netherlands, one from Spain and one from Finland. They are all living here. Coming back to Valencia was a lot easier when I already had people here. 

I'm so excited from the coming months. I got again amazing opportunity which I'm going to use well. I know I'm going to make new friends and learn a lot of new things. 💙

Last weeks and thoughts about the exchange

Only sunny and hot days 🔥

The weather in Spain was starting to be even too hot. Everyday over 30 degrees and clear sky. We were all sweating at the office. I was also being the trip staff again. We had a trip to Calpe and it was amazing. The only thing I was looking forward from Finland was the weather where you can breath haha. 

We also arranged a pool party. It was really successful and people were enjoying it a lot. We shot vodka with water guns into people's mouths. We had DJ playing good music the whole day. It was perfect day but I managed to burn myself...

Last weeks were full of emotions 😵

The day going back to home was coming really fast. I had really mixed feelings about coming back to Finland. Spain and especially Valencia was feeling like home to me. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to all the amazing people I have met along the exchange. My friends were starting to leave one by one. It was really painful to say goodbye's all the time. Because my friends were leaving the exchange didn't feel the same anymore. I was starting to be ready to come back to Finland. 

Coming back to Finland was a shock. Everything felt so weird and it took me few weeks to get used to things here. I'm everyday missing back to Spain. Also I'm missing all the amazing people I met there. Luckily I can always go back to Valencia which is my second home now. 

Some thoughts about the exchange 💙

This was for sure one of the best decisions in my life. I have always dream about going to Spain for internship. Our school made it easy to make dreams come true. This is opportunity which everyone should use. I learned so many new skills, I got better with my English and I grew as a person. Leaving for the internship alone was really scary but it really paid off. We are still so young and now is the time to experience and see the world. If you stay on your comfort zone you will miss a lot. I will have these amazing memories the rest of my life. I also made friends for life. I have already visited in Netherlands to see one of my friends from the internship. Next I'm planning to visit my friends in France. I'm also planning a new internship back to Spain. If I'm lucky I will be there again very soon.

Some changes to my exchange

Can't leave from here 🙅

I was supposed to leave on 01.06 but after the first month I changed my mind. I got feeling that I just can't leave from here yet. I texted to my teacher and asked if I could extend the exchange. I was lucky and it was possible. Now the new leaving date is 01.07. I can spend here one month more. I already had the return flight but I got to change the date for free. I can also stay in the same apartment so everything went really well with the changes. 

June is really busy month here because students are finishing their studies and starting the summer vacation. I am really looking forward to june. We will have a lot of interesting trips and events on that month. We will have a lot of work to do but I really enjoy this job so it's not problem. 

Last week I started to do parties too. Now I am party staff at Akuarela club every thursday. I really enjoyed it. My work start at midnight. I will be at the club promoting Happy Erasmus with stickers and flyers. My job is also to talk with people and make sure that everybody is having fun. I can also help if they have some problems or questions about anything.

Life is feeling like a dream 💕

Sometimes I really need to stop here and think is this all really true. I have already met many new amazing people from different cultures. I'm so thankful of these new amazing people I have in my life now. I have done a lot of new things and I know that I have been grown as a person. I'm really excited about the upcoming month. Here the last weeks have been littlepit rainy but now the weather is getting really good. In the next month I will take a part to few trips which Happy Erasmus is going to implements. I'm really looking forward to those.

3 weeks in Derry

Almost 3 weeks here in Derry 🥰 many things started to fall into place I’m start getting used to many things here. Working placement going so well I’ve learned so much from my work place getting to know people, learning some Irish and culture ☘️  Saturday I went to Giant’s Causeway with friends the place was amazing here’s some pictures that we took😇

One month already

The time is going so fast 😟

Can't believe that I have been here already one month. The time is going so fast and I just try to enjoy everyday. Life here have been amazing. This place is starting to feel like home and I really like that but at the same time I'm scared. These last two weeks haven't been the best ones because I have been sick again. It was just a flu but I had to be away from work and just lay on the bed few days. Luckily I'm finally getting better. 

A lot of new friends 👭

I have already got so many new friends and people here are amazing. I really like my coworkers and many of my new friends are from work. We are doing lot of things together, usually something every day. You really don't get bored here. We have been exploring the city together, went to the many picknicks and ofcourse partying together. We are having really great time together.

First trip with Happy Erasmus 🐬

On Sunday 30/04 I took a part to Isla De Tabarca day trip with Happy Erasmus. I was working and at the same time enjoying this beautiful trip. The trip started at 8:00. First we put participants in to the busses and made sure that everybody came, then we took of to Santa Pola. The bus trip took about two hours. From Santa Pola we hopped in the ferry which took us to the Isla De Tabarca within 40 minutes. We handed out snorkels to the participants and then everybody went to their own ways. The water was so clear and the world under the water was breathtaking. We saw a lot of different kind of fishes. I have always liked snorkeling even though I'm scared of the fishes haha! Isla De Tabarca is special because that island doesn't have any roads or cars and there is lot of people living. We got to explore the island for 6 hours and then we headed back to home. This day was one of the  best ones here!

First two weeks in Valencia, Spain

First day in Valencia, Sunday 02. April 2023... 😬

Sunday was my first day in Valencia. I arrived on Saturday 1. April on night so I went straight to my apartment. I’m staying in shared flat. I have an own room where is double bed and two windows. First in the morning I headed to grocery store little did I know that here was a holiday, so all the stores were closed. After walking around for a while, I found a small store which was open. I bought something to eat and got back to the apartment. After the breakfast I unbagged my stuff and putted them on their own place. I had a little break and then headed to get some ice coffee from Starbucks. There were about 2 km, so I was just walking and checking out the neighbourhood at the same time. It was really warm day about 25 degrees and sun was shining. I got my iced coffee and started to walk back to my home. I saw a really nice park and decided to head there to enjoy my iced coffee. I was just looking around and the park was so pretty. I was tired because of the long day so I decided to stay at my room for the rest of the day. I’m so excited for the upcoming and can’t wait to see what this internship will bring for me. 

First days at the office, Monday 3. April!  💪

My internship at Happy Erasmus Valencia started on Monday 3. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. My heart was beating so fast when I got next to the office. Getting to the office was easy because I got a free metro/tram/bus card so I just hopped in to the tram. First we had a little meeting which was alright. Straight from that we get to the work. First days was pretty crazy because I was so lost with everything. Since the first workday I was really enjoying it. We work five times per week and the working hours are 10-15 (morning shift) or 15-20 (afternoon shift). We are also organizing events so sometimes you are working nights too. 

How it have been going? 😍

I love it here so much. The work is amazing and I am learning new things everyday. Weather have been everyday sunny and +20 degrees. I have already made so many new friends. I have made a one finnish friend in here so it's nice to sometimes speak my own language too. The nights here have been really cold and that suprised me. I have been freezing at night and because of that I have a flu now. Not a bad one but still. These first weeks I have been taking chill and checking all the new places around me. I'm so excited because here is so much things to see and do. I'm so happy already that I took a part to this internship. I have never been this happy.
